The Féilte Bursary Scheme supports collaboration between schools, enhances teachers’ professional learning and promotes teaching as a profession. The bursaries fund joint school projects enabling teachers to explore new approaches to teaching and learning.

Bursaries of €2,000 and €5,000 were awarded to 27 schools nationwide who will in turn collaborate with a further 96 schools, bringing the total number of schools supported under the scheme to 123.

Congratulating the recipients, Acting Director of the Teaching Council, Phil Fox said:

“Teachers across the Republic of Ireland continue to demonstrate remarkable creativity, innovation and dedication to professional learning through their applications to the Féilte Bursary Scheme. The scheme has once again highlighted the high standards and quality of our teaching profession.”

“The Teaching Council is proud to support this work, and we are pleased to confirm that the scheme’s funding has increased from €100,000 last year to €126,000 this year. This additional investment  reflects the Council’s commitment to promoting teaching as a profession and supporting teachers’ professional learning. The bursary scheme showcases the commitment of teachers who are engaging in professional learning across a  range of areas including special education, digital learning and universal design for learning.”

“I look forward to following the progress of these projects and to seeing the positive impact they will have on classrooms and school communities nationwide.”
