Droichead Policy
The Droichead framework has been developed through extensive consultation with the profession. Since the inception of Droichead, the Teaching Council has listened carefully to the voices of the individual teachers and schools involved. These professional conversations have helped to shape Droichead into the professional induction framework that it is today.
The Teaching Council commenced a review of Droichead in 2023 to ensure that it continues to be effective in supporting the needs of Newly Qualified Teachers and their students. The updated Droichead Policy will come into effect in September 2026 for all Newly Qualified Teachers commencing their Droichead process.
